About OWIG Regional Chapters
Starting in 2020, Ohio Women in Government began establishing Regional Chapters across the state with the goal of bringing women together under the OWIG brand outside of Columbus for the very first time. These chapters enable women who live and work in places like Cleveland and Cincinnati to have access to OWIG programming and networking events in their local community. Our goal with Regional Chapters is put into practice the statewide vision that has always been implied as part of our name, making OWIG more accessible to members and potential members all across Ohio, not just in Columbus.
Our Regional Chapters
Northeast Ohio (Cleveland) - led by Regional Liaison Becky Watts
Southwest Ohio (Cincinnati) - led by Regional Liaison Lilah Foley
Southeast Ohio - led by Regional Liaison Kelli Johnson
OWIG Regional Liaisons
Our Regional Chapters are led by Regional Liaisons, OWIG members who live in the Regional Chapter area and manage all events and programs in the city. These liaisons are key points of contact for OWIG’s Board with respect to regional events, and have strong networks in their areas to support local engagement. Regional Liaisons serve two-year terms, but may reapply and be re-selected by the OWIG Board to serve additional terms.
New Regional Chapters
We are always interested in expanding our reach to new areas of the state in partnership with women who are passionate about OWIG’s mission and the future of our organization. If this describes you and you are interested in leading the establishment of a new OWIG Regional Chapter, please email ohiowomeningovernment@gmail.com for more information. Regional Liaisons must be current OWIG members and must commit to executing at least two events per year in their regions.
